Virtual Visits

Due to OHIP and College rules, in order to be eligible for virtual visits you must:

• Be rostered to a FHO physician, *OR* have had an in-person visit in the 24 months prior to your virtual appointment. Note the in-person visit must have been with the specific physician you plan to see virtually, and not a covering physician. • Be physically located in Ontario. If you are in Canada but outside of Ontario, you may be able to see your physician virtually, but a fee would apply as this is an uninsured service. Note also that pharmacies in other provinces may not be able to fill your doctor's prescriptions, particularly for controlled medications like opioids or stimulants.
  If you are out of country, due to medicolegal restrictions you cannot have a virtual visit with your Canadian family physician and must see a health care provider local to you, or wait until you return to Ontario.

• Have a medical concern that is appropriate to assess virtually. If your concern is likely to need an in-person examination or assessment to properly address, you will be offered an in-person visit instead. If during the course of a virtual visit your physician finds that an in-person visit is needed you will be rebooked.
