Footwear Reminder
As the weather becomes colder and wetter, we kindly ask that you remove wet or snowy shoes and boots upon entering the clinic.
Please bring dry, non-slip indoor footwear, such as indoor shoes or slippers, to help ensure your comfort and safety.
Cold and Flu Symptoms
If you are experiencing cold or flu symptoms, with or without a cough, please notify our staff before your appointment.
If you are advised to attend the clinic despite your symptoms, please bring and wear your own mask throughout your visit.

COVID-19 VACCINES HAVE ARRIVED!
We are now offering the COVID-19 shot at our clinic. Please use our online booking to make appointments with our Nurse or you may ask your doctor if you have a scheduled appointment.
SUBJECT: FLU and COVID-19 VACCINE AVAILABILITY
Dear Patients,
The physicians & staff at Ironoak Medical Clinic hope you had a safe and restful summer! It's that time of year again when fall - and cold/flu season - is soon to arrive!
As a reminder, flu and COVID-19 vaccines are recommended for everyone 6 months and older, and as these viruses mutate quickly you should get a new vaccine every fall.
We have received our initial shipment of flu vaccines from public health.
We do not expect to receive COVID-19 vaccines until later in October, unfortunately. We will post an update here on our website when COVID-19 vaccines arrive. PLEASE do not call our clinic for updates. We appreciate your patience.
Even though the COVID-19 vaccine is not yet available, persons on the list below should still book an appointment to get their flu shot.
Initially, as per the Ontario Ministry of Health, vaccines will only be available to high-risk groups, i.e.:
• Age 65 or older
• Children 6 months to 4 years of age
• Residents of congregate living settings (such as long term care homes and retirement homes)
• Pregnant individuals
• Individuals from First Nations, Metis, or Inuit communities
• Individuals 6 months of age and older with underlying health conditions, such as lung or heart disease, kidney disease, diabetes, cancer, compromised immune systems due to conditions or medications, anemia, neurologic conditions, and obesity (BMI 40 or above).
After October 26, 2026, all individuals 6 months and older will be eligible for flu and COVID vaccinations.
You will be offered vaccination if you are attending a regular visit with your doctor. If you don't have an appointment coming up, you can make an appointment with Carrie, our nurse, to get your shots. This can be done online (preferred) via the 'Vaccine Booking' link on our website, or by phoning the office.
Also, if you are 75 years old or older, and have never received an RSV vaccine, it is recommended you receive one; it is fully covered by OHIP in this age group. (If you are 50-74, and would like an RSV vaccine, please book an appointment with your physician - they are available to purchase with a prescription).
This clinic is located at the corner of North Service Road East and Ironoak Way – the closest major intersection is that of Upper Middle & Ninth Line/Ford Drive. It is just behind the Farm Boy/across the street from Joshua Creek Arena.
