As the Thanksgiving season approaches, with it comes a variety of respiratory viruses, like influenza, COVID, and RSV. The best way to prevent these illnesses and their potentially serious effects is vaccination. Before you ask, it is indeed safe to get all three vaccines at the same time if you would like!
Flu and COVID vaccines are publicly funded and available for all people 6 months and older, but are especially recommended for:
seniors (age 65 and up)
residents of long-term care homes and other congregate living settings
pregnant people
individuals with underlying medical conditions
health care workers / care providers
This year, RSV vaccination is publicly funded for people aged 75 and older, or those 60 and older living in long term care homes or congregate living settings. It is available for purchase via Ironoak Pharmacy for those 60-74 who do not qualify for a funded vaccine but prefer to receive one.
We are pleased to announce our upcoming Flu, COVID, and RSV vaccination clinics:
Thursday, October 9: 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm
Friday, October 10: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Saturday, October 18: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
For your convenience, online booking is now available. A limited supply of high-dose flu vaccines and RSV vaccines will be offered based on eligibility and availability. You may also call our clinic for an appointment.
Walk-ins are welcome and will be accommodated as supply allows; however, patients with booked appointments will be given priority, and wait times may occur.
You will also be offered vaccination if you are seeing your physician for a routine visit.
Finally, your local pharmacy should have these vaccines available as well. If you are 65 or older, and receive a flu vaccine at a pharmacy, please send us a quick e-mail to let us know. (The Ministry automatically notifies us of COVID vaccines that you receive, but not flu shots).
** PLEASE PLAN TO STAY FOR 15 MINUTES AFTER YOUR VACCINE(S) SO WE MAY MONITOR FOR REACTIONS **

As the weather turns colder and wetter, we kindly remind everyone to remove wet or snowy shoes or boots upon entering the clinic and to bring dry, non-slip footwear such as shoes or slippers for your comfort and safety.
If you are experiencing any cold or flu symptoms, with or without a cough, please notify our staff immediately prior to your appointment. Should you still be directed to come to the clinic, please bring and wear your own mask for the entire duration of your visit.
We are a mask-friendly clinic, and anyone may choose to wear a mask at any time.
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us keep our community healthy and safe.
